Education
Mr. Lopez graduated from Florida International University (F.I.U.) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1992. While in F.I.U., he joined the Delta Chi Fraternity and was a Senator in Student Government.
He obtained his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University in 1995. Since being admitted to the Florida Bar, he has been active in the community, including providing pro bono work through the Put Something Back, Pro Bono Program of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in and for Miami-Dade County, Florida, and the School and Professionalism Committees of the Dade County Bar Association. He was a member of the Florida Bar Ethics Committee for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in and for Miami-Dade County and was Chairman of his committee when his term ended in 2015. Mr. Lopez has been reviewed by his peers and designated as an AV-rated preeminent lawyer by Martindale-Hubbell. He has served as mock judge in the local high school trial competitions sponsored by Dade County Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division as well as Nova Southeastern University’s Trial Advocacy competitions. Mr. Lopez has donated his time to charitable organizations such as the Health Crisis Network, American Red Cross, the American Heart Association and making strides against Breast Cancer. He has brought this commitment to give back to his community to the firm to make his South Florida home a better place to live for all. In 2022, Mr. Lopez joined the Broward County Hispanic Bar Association (BCHBA) as a director to help the Hispanic community in Broward County, Florida. He is now the President-Elect of the BCHBA and will be installed as President in 2025.
Mr. Lopez is admitted to practice law in all State Courts in Florida, the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Florida, the Federal District Court for the Middle District, the Federal District for the Western District of Texas, the Federal District for the Southern of Texas, the Federal District for the District of Colorado and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Atlanta, Georgia.
